Sean Astin has the same tattoo as eight other cast and crew members from the movie series "The Lord of the Rings". It is the Elvish word for "nine" written in Tengwar script andSymbolized the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring. It is also a reminder of the bonding experiences the cast and crew shared while making the epic film. Astin got his tattoo on his right Ankle. "There was a lot of fear" he says of the tattoo experience.
Sean Patrick Duke (born February 25, 1971) is an American actor, director and producer. He is the son of famous actress Patty Duke. (He uses the last Name of his stepfather, John Astin.) His first acting role was in 1985's ''The Goonies'' and he has gone on to act in many movies, including "50 First Dates" and "The War of the Roses". Astin has also worked on television on the show ''24'' and ''Meerkat Manor''. He married Christine Harrell in 1992 and has three daughters. (Interesting note: All of Astin's daughters have the same middle Name: Louise.)
