Day of the Dead Tattoos

Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that was put into place to encourage family and friends to say a prayer for people for the deceased. This holiday is recognized annually in Mexico and is thought to have dated back as far as 2,500-3,000 years. This is a three-day holiday that starts on Oct. 31 and ends on Nov. 2. The Day of the Dead tattoo represents a belief in this holiday. It’s common for an individual who wants to provide a tribute or memorial to a deceased loved one to put this person’s name on the tattoo, as well. In some instances, the memorial tattoo will be a picture of the deceased, and others may even be a skeleton. Both males and females get this tattoo, but it tends to be more popular with the male gender.
