Michael Jeffery Jordan (born February 17, 1963) is a retired American professional basketball player. He is widely known as the greatest basketball player of all time. He began his career at the University of North Carolina (where he joined Omega Psi Phi) and began playing professional basketball in 1984 with Chicago Bulls. Jordan will be forever remembered for his slam-dunks and defensive playing. He was a part of the Chicago Bulls' three consecutive NBA championship titles. Jordan retired in 1993 to pursue professional baseball but rejoined the Bulls in 1995 and led them to three more successive championships. He retired again in 1999 and returned for two more seasons in 2001 as a member of the Washington Wizards. Of the long list of awards Jordan has won, he has five MVP awards and two Olympic medals. Jordan has two sons and a daughter with ex wife Juanita Vanoy. They divorced in 2002 but reconciled and re-divorced in 2006. Juanita received a $168 million settlement. The divorce made history with one of the largest celebrity divorce settlements in history.
