Koi is a special type of fish that are typically used for decorative purposes. Some of these include backyard fish ponds and other types of decorations for the home that is usually the exterior of the home. Koi fish are easily distinguished from other types because of the pattern they have. This is also a colorful type of fish that usually comes in the colors white, black, cream, red, blue/gray, yellow, orange or gold. The koi fish tattoo is symbolic of being capable of preserving during the time of adversity. The Japanese and Chinese believed in some myths and legendary fables that included the koi fish. Most of these include the koi fish being able always to be victorious climbing waterfalls when necessary to reach the other side, this could be why they represent personal strength or overcoming adversity.
