A vampire is a being from folklore who feeds on the life essence of the living (usually in the form of blood) The vampires most people are familiar with (such as Dracula) are human corpses that are said to return from the grave to harm the living; But other versions of the vampire were thought to supernatural, possibly demonic, entities that did not take human form.
