Buddhist tattoos are worn by those who are either followers of the religion or look to incorporate some of its teachings into their lives. Buddha tattoos are most often seen with some sort of representation of Siddhartha Gautama, a short portly man with an extended stomach. Other symbols of Buddhism are the "mandala", an endless knot representing harmony, and the lotus flower, which represents enlightenment. There is also the wheel of Dharma, which represents knowledge. Buddhist tattoos may also incorporate the conch shell as a symbol of the thoughts of Buddha.
